A household ledger that knows savings are not spending
A family ledger for India that counts in paise, keeps savings out of spending, and asks about the cash nobody wrote down.

- The projection is rounded: an estimate never looks exact
- Income stands apart from spending
- Rent, wages and milk arrive without being typed
- A quiet day is asked about, not assumed
- Adding is one thumb away, on every screen
Constraint
An Indian household’s money moves through UPI, cards, cash and staff wages paid by hand, and the record it replaced was a running list in a notes app. Two errors make any tracker lie: savings — a SIP, a loan’s principal, an ATM withdrawal — counted as spending, and a cash day that reads as a day with no spending. It also had to be kept by two adults, on a mix of Android phones and iPhones.
Decision
Every entry is one of three kinds — expense, income or transfer — and savings, loan principal and cash withdrawals are transfers, so they never inflate the month. Money is whole paise, parsed from what was typed as a string and never as a float. Rent, wages and the milk bill post themselves when the app is opened, and the database, not the code, refuses a second copy. A guessed amount never enters a headline total, and the projection is rounded so an estimate never looks exact.
